Thank you to all the meeting organizers, presenters, moderators, and participants who attended the 2023 I-SCORE Meeting on March 30th and 31st! With 87 in person attendants and 125 virtual attendants, 212 people attended from all over the world. This meeting provides a great opportunity for information-sharing and collaboration between DCP staff, program staff, and Consortia/CP-CTNet members. Highlights from the first half of the program include:
- Dr. Leslie Ford, Associate Director for Clinical Research at NCI, kicked off the meeting and welcomed participants and presenters to I-SCORE 2023.
- Dr. Philip Castle, Director of the Division of Cancer Prevention, provided a vision for cancer prevention.
- Dr. Eva Szabo, Chief of the Lung and Upper Aerodigestive Cancer Research Group, provided an overview of both the Consortia and CP-CTNet Programs, including the science and status of the Consortia studies. For CP-CTNet, Dr. Szabo reviewed active studies, infrastructure, and logistics.
- Dr. Olivera Finn, Dr. William Gwin, and Dr. Moumita Ghosh highlighted clinical trial reports from the MUC1 vaccine clinical trials for interception and prevention of colon and lung cancer, the Breast cancer prevention vaccine (WOKVAC), and the Iloprost mediated reversal of bronchial dysplasia clinical trial.
- Lightning talks highlighted Molecular Prevention of Cancer with Aspirin, ONC201 for Chemoprevention of Colorectal Cancer, and A Randomized Trial of Apalutamide in Non-muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer.
- Enhanced Trial Recruitment and Operations topics were highlighted.
- The first half of the program concluded with concurrent Steering Committee meetings and Think Tank meetings. The final portion of the agenda focused on Targeting Inflammation in Cancer Prevention and the PREVENT Program and the Future of Cancer Prevention. The following presenters gave talks on various topics including multi-antigen vaccine for colon cancer prevention and cancer prevention in firefighters:
